Nextel supports community involvement that strategically aligns with our business goals, products and services.

If you're a community-based organization and want to integrate or promote our unique services, see below for eligibility criteria.

After proposals are reviewed and evaluated for eligibility, all applicants will receive a written response to their request within 30 days of receipt. Please allow 2-3 months lead time for all events.

Please note that Nextel does not guarantee support and reserves the right to amend, or make exception to, these guidelines.

Who is Eligible?

An organization must:

Be a 501(c)(3) organization

Be non-denominational

Benefit customers in communities throughout the areas we service

Submit its sponsorship request in writing

Nextel generally does not provide support for the following:

Individuals

Political causes or candidates

Religious organizations

Civic sports leagues, tournaments or school athletic organizations

For-profit organizations

Equipment other than wireless phones or modems

Office space for permanent operations (temporary operations will be evaluated on an individual basis)

How Are Candidates Judged?

Each application is evaluated on its merits, according to criteria such as:

Alignment with Nextel's business goals, products and/or services

Public impact and participation

Quality of the event or program

Size and type of constituency served by the applicant organization

Relevance of the event or program to Nextel's products and services

Promotional opportunities and/or recognition for Nextel

Category exclusivity

Extent of event's relevance to the area of public safety
